A video has gone viral on social media recently, showing a foreigner recording and harassing patrons of a coffee chain store that she’s boycotting in Kuala Lumpur.

The video was recorded and shared on TikTok by user @safiah21, a foreigner residing in Australia who was visiting Malaysia and has since garnered over 562,000 views on the platform.

At the start of the video, a couple can be seen entering the coffee shop while 2 men are at the counter and another 2 individuals are in the sitting area.

She could then be heard saying, “I thought there wouldn’t be a lot of people here but we guess we were wrong, I guess I was wrong.

She then stepped closer to the 4 people at the counter and yelled,

“Free Palestine, free Palestine! You guys are supporting genocide, thank you.”

As she yelled this, everyone at the coffee shop stared at her. Furthermore, the couple seen entering the shop in the beginning did not buy anything.

The woman there with her partner can also be seen giving @safiah21 a thumbs up, something the latter said in the comments “had an impact” on her.

In the video’s comments section, many Malaysians were divided by the woman’s actions, with some praising her while others criticising her for harassing people by enforcing her point of view on others.

One commenter thanked the woman for her voice in Malaysia, while another said the coffee chain store is still packed in Penang despite calls for a boycott.

Conversely, another commenter told the woman not to force people to boycott. At the same time, another reminded her that she should think of the people employed at the coffee shop before urging a boycott.

Besides that, another commenter criticised her for having no manners and taking videos of other people in public without their consent.
