While foreigners have praised and applauded our many local cuisines, there will always be a dish or two that just isn’t up to their taste buds.

Here’s an example of that.

The @ClownWorld_ Twitter page recently shared their disgust for a Malaysian favourite, the cheese leleh (melted cheese) platter often seen in viral videos.

They wrote, “Ruined the meal (with the cheese)“.

In the video showcased, a platter of Korean ramen, nuggets, fries, meatballs, wedges and more could be seen as it is being completely smothered with melted cheese, straight from the piping hot pan!

Yeah, not going to lie, the cheese lover in us is salivating as we speak.

It’s definitely not for everyone!

Though, to put it lightly, it appears that foreigners might be turned off by the dish.

In the sea of foreigners sharing their disgust over the cheese leleh platter was a Malaysian whose words echoed louder than the rest.

Cheese 5

“Only Singaporeans and Indonesians are allowed to make fun of our food. You, white people, who eat bland food with no taste can all be quiet.”

Yeah, you tell ’em, one Malaysian person!

While we understand that the dish can cause gas and bloating (and is a risk for those who have cholesterol problems), some of us Malaysians love cheese way too much to not try this at least once. Plus, it’s not like those who like this dish eat it everyday.
