Many Malaysians are very fond of FamilyMart and their offerings, especially their ready-to-eat items such as their sandwiches, buns and bentos.

Sadly, it looks like no one will be having their ready-to-eat items for the time being due to Covid-19 cases.

FamilyMart took to their Facebook page to inform the general public that their ready-to-eat items will temporarily be off the shelves as one of their suppliers have confirmed Covid-19 cases.

They wrote, “Dear FAM, we are sad to inform you that one of our major suppliers has confirmed Covid-19 cases. They immediately sanitised their premises and voluntarily quarantined all staff with immediate effect as a precautionary measure. As a result, there will be disruptions to our ready-to-eat food supply for the next seven days. Some affected items include bentos, onigiris, sandwiches, and baked goods (bread).”

“We hope you will bear with our empty ready-to-eat shelves as we put safety for the betterment of everybody above everything else.”

Along with the announcement, they added that their operating hours have been revised according to the Movement Control Order (MCO) period.

“We sincerely thank you for the support the FAM has shown us and look forward to serving you some of your favourites once again after this. Please join us in wishing all who are affected, a speedy recovery,” they shared.

So if you see empty shelves where the buns and bentos used to be, fret not for no one panic-bought them all.

We genuinely hope that everyone has a speedy recovery!
