The former finalist of Miss Malaysia International, Abby Lee found herself under fire recently for her racist remarks and her lack of patriotism. Most people think that she shouldn’t be representing Malaysia if she has never seen herself as a Malaysian.

Abby has since responded to the allegations via her Instagram story which has since expired. She claimed that some of the posts that people have seen were false news intended to harm her as well as the Miss International Malaysia (MIM) organisation.

In one of the screenshots, Abby rants about the quality of a photographer who took her pictures which she found unsatisfactory. In response to that, Abby said,

“I might have hurt others with my venting words but I bear no malice towards anyone.”

She also mentioned that she has no intention to make a malicious comparison between herself and the previous champion of MIM. Abby later apologised for her emotional reactions.

“I am very sorry and MIM is not involved in this. They have given me a warning after finding out about the incident,” she apologised for the trouble caused towards MIM.

She ended the post by saying that the other messages were simply groundless rumours, however, she did not further elaborate on that.

MIM also responded

Just this morning (18 March), Miss Malaysia International released a statement via their Instagram account.

It is revealed that Abby has explained the situation to the organisation and she will also take legal actions for several accusations of her through her lawyer.

“However, the organisation has decided to recede her status from finalist of Miss Malaysia International 2022.”

The organisation also reminded the people to take into account the authenticity of any news before sharing and they also apologised to all parties that are involved in the recent issues.
