Every festive season, we’re used to having our Prime Minister post either a festive greeting post or picture, or sometimes even a short video.
But this Chinese New Year season, Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim (DSAI) is taking things to a WHOLE NEW LEVEL with his greeting and you definitely don’t want to miss out on this.
BERNAMA TV took to their Twitter page to showcase DSAI’s Chinese New Year greeting video and just so you guys know, it’s full of adorable rabbits.
The video tells the story of a determined little snowy-white rabbit (because it’s the year of the rabbit, duh) named Miki in the middle of what looks like a magical forest. We initially thought that this was taken from a movie or something!
As the rabbit wanders, a voiceover starts, “This journey requires strength, perseverance and determination.”
Despite the challenges Miki faces, it still pushes through for the sake of survival.
“The brave Miki continues on his journey to keep breathing at this time. Exhaustion makes giving up possibly. After going through hardships and difficulties, is it going to lose in the end?”
“But as long as there is hope, there surely will be sunlight. That is the same with us,” the voiceover continued.
Miki then somehow ends up in a park where DSAI shows up and (very awkwardly but still adorably) picks up Miki before wishing Malaysians a Happy Chinese New Year in Mandarin!
This one can really beat Petronas advertisements already.
With such a different approach to festive greetings as compared to past Prime Ministers, people are absolutely here for this new method.
“I’m not a fanatic but I like the vibes of this kind of relaxed greetings. Never has a Malaysian PM made such a casual greeting because what we usually see are formal greetings. I love this new vibes from DS Anwar Ibrahim. Sincerely.”
In fact, people love this so much that they can’t wait to see what DSAI has in store for future festivals!
“The best! I can’t wait for the greetings for the next festivals, especially Hari Raya Aidilfitri!”
