It’s no secret that Malaysians love badminton to the core. Hence is why our badminton athletes that represent our country received much-deserved praise and sponsorships.
But it appears that our athletes may not have the right equipment to make our country proud.
The videocaulong TikTok page took to their profile to showcase how national badminton player Goh V Shem’s 2 racquets had broken in different ways during the Ciputra Hanoi match in Vietnam.
They wrote, “Goh v Shem’s hands are so strong, 1 racquet had a torn net and 1 racquet broke in a rare coincidence.”
Double whammy
In a video showcase during the tournament, Goh could be seen attempting to hit the shuttlecock with a racquet only for it to get lodged into the racquet due to faulty wiring.
After switching to a different racquet, the racquet actually flew off the handle when he swung it to hit the incoming shuttlecock, completely ruining the game.
Goh then had to grab a racquet from someone out of frame from the camera.
It’s truly saddening that our local athletes, who are representing 0ur country, have to deal with faulty equipment without proper support.
