The Royal Malaysia Air Force (RMAF) has allayed any fears the public may have if they see low-flying aircraft in and around Klang Valley starting today, as it’s just a training exercise for the upcoming Merdeka Day celebration.

In a statement yesterday (26 August), RMAF announced that it will be carrying out low-level tactical flight training from 26 to 31 August.

RMAF’s statement clarified its role in supervising an event with aerial segments and air displays, whereby the event will feature aircraft from RMAF and the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF).

These include fighter jets, transport aircraft and helicopters of various categories. Moreover, throughout the training, these military aircraft and security forces will perform low-level tactical flights in designated areas, especially within the airspace of Putrajaya and Selangor.

The statement asserted,

“RMAF would like to reassure the public that there’s no need to be concerned if they observe military aircraft, particularly RMAF and MAF aircraft, as well as other security forces, flying at low altitudes during the exercise period,”
