Xin Yuan was allegedly drugged

Earlier, it was also revealed that Xin Yuan’s 16-year-old boyfriend confessed his involvement in the murder. His 2o-year-old brother and 51-year-old father were also detained and are now being remanded to assist in the investigation.

The 16-year-old also admitted to seeking his brother’s help to dispose of Xin Yuan’s body, and CCTV footage near their house in Bandar Mahkota Cheras managed to capture the pair opening and closing the trunk of the car suspiciously.

He also said that Xin Yuan had consumed a drugged beverage when she was at his house, according to reports by Sin Chew and China Press.

On December 19, Xin Yuan told her parents that she would be going to a lion dance practice, but CCTV footage near her boyfriend’s house showed that Xin Yuan reached his place early in the morning but never left.

Her decomposing body was found at the garbage gate at the Banting River on December 28.

As of now, PDRM is still investigating the motive behind the murder.
