If you didn’t have Ophidiophobia (irrational fear of snakes) before, you might have it after you’re done reading this!
The body of 54-year-old Wa Tiba was found on Friday when villagers cut open a seven-metre (23-foot) bloated python in the village of Persiapan Lawela on the island of Muna, offshore of Sulawesi.
According to The Jakarta Post, the 54-year-old housewife had gone missing on Thursday night after she went to check on her corn plantation located 1km away from her house.
Her family became anxious when she still hadn’t come home at 6am the next day. Her sister went looking for her at the plantation and a search party was launched soon after involving about 100 residents, including her worried relatives.
At around 9.30am, residents found a big python with a swollen belly near the plantation.
Suspecting that the snake has swallowed the victim, the residents killed it and carried it out of the garden. Upon cutting open the snake’s belly, the entire body of the victim was found inside. That means the snake swallowed her whole leh! So GELI!
According to an article by The Star, local police chief Hamka said the villagers found the giant serpent lying about 30 metres from Tiba’s sandals and machete, adding she was swallowed head first and her body was found intact.
