A disabled man, who went viral on social media for directing traffic while wearing a PDRM uniform was summoned to the police station in Klang recently. On social media, he goes by the name of “Sargeant Alang.”

This was not Sargeant Alang’s first rodeo. A video showing him controlling traffic in Klang recently circulated on social media and after receiving a report from the public, PDRM confiscated Sargeant Alang’s uniform. According to Facebook user Eone Psyco who knows Sargeant Alang personally, he confirmed that the latter will not be seen on the road in the police uniform anymore.

“We have appealed for him to be allowed to continue with the activity, but the request was rejected,” Eone wrote on his Facebook.

He added that the police also stressed that Sergeant Alang is prohibited from wearing a uniform resembling a police officer and from performing any actions that imitate law enforcement duties from now on.

“Sergeant Alang is a special child. His ambition is to become a police officer, but he couldn’t due to his condition.”

Sargeant Alang’s videos showing him in PDRM uniform on different occasions often went viral on social media, and Eone said in his post that the next time Sargeant Alang emerges on social media would be as a “detective.”

Sergeant Alang had previously become the centre of attention in the local community because he was often seen wearing a uniform resembling a police officer and carrying out ‘roadblocks’ around Meru in his unique way, which you can see on his unofficial account @sarjanalangofficialfans created by his fans.

As of the time of writing, PDRM has yet to release an official statement about the matter.

Eone also reminded the public to stop spreading videos that could create pressure on special individuals like Sergeant Alang, but instead continue to channel support.
