With public transportation becoming an essential part of daily life for many Malaysians, travel expenses can quickly add up, especially for families with school-going children and persons with disabilities (OKU). Fortunately, Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) has a way to help ease the burden.

The MyRailLife Pass offers 100% FREE unlimited train travel to eligible children, school students and OKU cardholders on selected KTM services across Peninsular Malaysia.

What is the KTMB MyRailLife Pass?

The MyRailLife Pass is an initiative aimed at reducing transportation costs for families and students, while encouraging school-going children and the OKU community to use public transportation.

Where can you travel with the MyRailLife Pass?

The pass is valid on selected KTM passenger services covering the East Coast, Klang Valley and northern regions. This includes:

  • Shuttle Timuran (DMU) between Gemas and Tumpat
  • KTM Komuter Klang Valley Sector, covering the Pelabuhan Klang–Tanjung Malim
  • Batu Caves–Pulau Sebang routes

In the north, eligible passengers can use the pass on the KTM Komuter Northern Sector, including services between Padang Besar and Butterworth and Padang Rengas and Butterworth.

Who is eligible?

The pass is available to Malaysian citizens who fall into any of these categories:

  • Children aged 4 to 6 (newly expanded coverage)
  • Primary school students, from Standard 1 to Standard 6
  • Secondary school students, from Form 1 to Form 6
  • OKU cardholders registered with the Department of Social Welfare (JKM)

Eligible passengers can apply through the KTMB KITS Style App or by visiting any KTM Komuter or Shuttle Timuran ticket counter.

What documents do you need?

Applicants will need a Birth Certificate, MyKid or MyKad as proof of identification. Form 6 students must also provide a school-issued verification letter, while OKU applicants will need to present their OKU Card issued by JKM.

What should you know before using the pass?

The MyRailLife Pass can be used between any origin and destination stations within the same service sector, but it is strictly non-transferable and can only be used by the person named on the pass.

Passengers should also carry their MyRailLife Pass together with their MyKad or MyKid during their journey, as KTMB staff may request to see them during ticket checks. The pass issued from 1 January 2026 is valid until 31 December 2026, and there is no registration fee or charge to obtain it. Applications made at ticket counters or eligible kiosks can be approved instantly, while applications through the KITS App (Android and IOS) may take up to five working days.

If your pass is damaged, you can visit a KTM Komuter or Shuttle Timuran counter to purchase a new Komuter Link Card for re-issuance.

For lost passes, users must file a police report within 24 hours and present it at a KTMB station counter before purchasing a replacement Komuter Link Card. So, if you or your family members fall under any of the eligible categories, the MyRailLife Pass could be a handy way to save on train fares throughout 2026!
