A woman who parked her car at the LRT3 Bukit Tinggi parking area was stunned to discover that two of her car tyres had been stolen when she returned from work.

Nani, who shared her experience on Threads, said she parked her vehicle at the station in the morning and paid for parking before heading to work.

Her car had standard rims

When she returned from work, she found two tyres missing. There were also signs that the thief had attempted to remove another tyre, with the screw or nut on the front-left side of the vehicle damaged and broken.

Nani clarified that leaving the car door open, as seen in the viral image, was not related to the theft. She had opened the door earlier to place some items inside the vehicle.

She also said her car had standard rims and that while it had a dashcam, the device did not record footage around the clock. Nani clarified that she had parked in the area behind a temple near Bandar Bukit Tinggi station.

Report lodged with RapidKL and PDRM, but total damage still unclear

In a conversation with WORLD OF BUZZ, Nani said she immediately approached RapidKL staff to report the incident after discovering that her tyres were missing. She said the staff were helpful, took down her details, and later went to the parking area to photograph the vehicle as evidence.

RapidKL auxiliary police personnel also arrived at the scene and advised her to lodge a police report. Nani later went to a police station to make the report and was advised to share a copy with the relevant personnel.

At this stage, the total cost of the damage and replacement tyres has yet to be determined. She also questioned whether the parking area has sufficient security or monitoring, particularly since she had paid RM5 for parking before leaving her car there for the day.

“I would expect appropriate security and monitoring at the parking spot,” Nani said.

For motorists who regularly use the parking facility, Nani’s experience will hopefully remind them to stay vigilant and take precautions when leaving their vehicles there.

If you park at LRT stations, do share your experience with us.
