Previously, we shared the Government’s proposal of building new concept schools consisting of between 10 and 17 floors around the city, as asserted by the Minister of the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa.

However, the proposed high-rise school buildings were met with mixed reactions from the public, many of whom believe that such a concept is not a wise idea, saying that the cons outweighed the pros.

The development would be carried out in line with the Kuala Lumpur Structure Plan 2040 (PSKL2040) and the Draft Kuala Lumpur Local Plan 2040 (DPTKL2040).

She added that the up to 17-storey school building concept is widely used in Australia, which is also equipped with sports and fields and recreational areas.
