With the Johor state elections set to happen tomorrow (12 March), politicians from various parties have constantly been campaigning in the state in an effort to get more votes.

Unfortunately, some have found their campaign banners vandalised by members of the public.

Recently, a DAP politician shared several pictures of her vandalised banners.

Marina Ibrahim who is Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) candidate for the Skudai state seat took to Twitter to express her frustrations.

In her tweet she writes, “Such itchy hands, you’re so free to put stickers and vandalise my banner. Do you not have anything better to do?”

“Has become another problem for me to have to remove the sticker,” she added.

She also shared a video of her trying to remove one of the stickers.

In one of her banners, a number of anti-DAP and pro-Islam stickers can be seen. One of which reads, “1 vote for DAP is 1 vote against Islam.”

Stickers which said “False” were also stuck next to the Pakatan Harapan logo.

Netizens criticised vandals

Marina’s tweet has garnered plenty of attention. Netizens went on to criticise the vandals as well as express their support for Marina.

“When you’re tying to playing on the religious sentiment but it doesn’t reflect back to yourself,” said a user.

Another user urged Marina to have spray, paint and stickers on standby as political campaigns often always involves foul play.

Meanwhile, a netizen believes that this is the work done by members of the public who have been paid by other people.

“If you’re just part of group of vandals you’d surely have not that much income to be able to order the ‘Palsu’ stickers in bulk,” they said.

Should such vandals be punished? Let us know in the comments.
