It’s no secret that most of Malaysia is considerably littered with rubbish. But, there are certain areas that are untouched and protected from our irresponsible actions.
Or so we thought.
Amar-Singh HSS took to his twitter account to showcase a Yellow-throated Marten (we would have assumed it was an otter!) rummaging through rubbish in a forest in Cameron Highlands, to look for food.
Dr Amar wrote, “I was heartbroken to see this beautiful Yellow-throated Marten (Martes flavigula) this week, searching for food in the extensive rubbish that permeates Cameron Highlands, Malaysia.”
This whole situation is severely saddening because the popular tourist spot has always been known for its lush, untouched greenery, and a fresh and clean atmosphere.
“Cameron Highlands could be a nature heaven but it is now a trash hell.”
It is important to note that the rubbish in this image was edited out:
Look at how cute this little guy is! Why would anyone pollute its habitat?
Considering no one would like it if people treat their home like a rubbish dump, we should have respect for those living in the jungles of Malaysia by not littering when hiking or trekking.
Unfortunately, just like the rest of Malaysia, there goes Cameron Highlands too.
