Before the daily Covid-19 cases could even decrease after one month in lockdown, cases are on the rise once more, especially with the Delta Variant becoming more rampant in Malaysia.

According to the Ministry of Health (KKM), Covid-19 cases has shot back up to 7,654, with majority of the cases coming from the Klang Valley (4,810).

As of 6 July, Selangor recorded 3,260 cases while Kuala Lumpur recorded 1,550 cases.

The infectivity rate nationwide has also been on the rise, with an r-naught value of 1.07 as of 5 July. This means that one infected person can spread the virus to 1.07 other people.

Previously, on 3 July, the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) was implemented in certain parts in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur and is set to last until 16 July.
