A resident in Guangzhou, China responded to their neighbour’s “call for help” by contacting the firefighters but little did they know, the woman screaming for help was not in distress.

She was allegedly having intercourse with her partner

According to Sin Chew and HK01, the alarmed neighbour, who was on the sixth floor of the apartment heard constant screaming from the woman on the seventh floor. At times, the woman was heard crying for help, and the concerned neighbour’s immediate response was to call the police for help.

The police then dispatched firefighters to the scene

The firefighters tried to unlock the door of the unit where the “distressing scream” was heard but to no avail.

Without wasting time, the firefighters broke down the doors to rescue the “woman in distress” as soon as possible before anything unwanted happened. One of the firefighters summoned all his strength to kick and break down the wooden door until a shirtless man and the woman herself suddenly emerged from the unit.

Visibly confused, the couple was wondering what had happened.

“What are you guys doing?” he asked the firefighters.

As it turns out, the couple did not need any help, and the firefighters had instead “disrupted” the peace.

The video is currently circulating on Weibo.

How would you react if you were the couple? As a neighbour, would you call for help if you heard a distress call in your area?
