Ever wanted to ski or snowboard but can’t afford a trip to the alps?

Well, it looks like you don’t have to travel that far, because now you can do it right here in the Klang Valley!

First Traxx, located in Petaling Jaya, is the first ever skiing and snowboarding training centre in Malaysia, and it looks too cool for words!

After WORLD OF BUZZ got in touch with a representative of First Traxx, we found out some interesting things this centre has to offer. Check it out!

First Traxx has an “Infinity slope” measuring 10 metres long, which provides a pretty realistic simulation of a real-life ski slope. Of course, it’s completely safe for beginners because it also has support bars for those who aren’t completely confident in riding the slopes on their own. Plus, kids as young as 5 can join, and there’s no upper age limit either! So, if you have any adventurous grandparents, this is the perfect place to bring them!

If you’re worried about falling down, don’t worry! The slopes are made out of soft astroturf, which is softer than real snow, and an instructor will always be present to keep an eye on you to ensure your safety. They have complete control over the Infinity slopes and can slow it down if they see that you are about to lose your balance.

The heights of the slopes can also be adjusted, so if you’re not that experienced in skiing or snowboarding, there’s nothing to worry about! You don’t even need to get your own gear, since the centre provides everything you need when you book a session! Nice! However, if you bring your own gear, you’re still subject to the same rates as those who use the centre’s equipment.

According to their website, if you are planning a ski holiday but have no prior experience, this is the perfect place to help you prepare for what’s to come. Their artificial slopes are in fact, harder to navigate than real snow. So, by the time you’re done with training on these slopes, you’ll be more than prepared for the real thing!

Not a fan of the cold? You’re in luck because the centre  has comfortable air-conditioning so you don’t need to wear super thick winter clothes!

Expect more from this centre in the future as well, because they have plans to install specialised boot-fitting services and perhaps even a concierge service for those looking into planning a winter holiday!

First Traxx definitely isn’t planning on stopping at just one centre either, as they hope to expand to different branches in the future. So, if Petaling Jaya is too far for your liking, keep an eye out for other centres soon!

Want to check them out for yourself? Here’s where they’re located:

Address: First Tracks Ski Sdn Bhd, Unit UG-3A, Block D, Axis Business Park, No. 10 Jalan Bersatu 13/4, 46200 Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

Opening hours: 1pm – 11pm (Monday to Friday), 10am – 10pm (Saturday, Sunday and public holidays)

Check out their website for more information on their sessions and rates, if you’re curious! We know we’re interested, especially since most of us have never skied or snowboarded ever!
