Fellow otakus are no strangers with the concept of maid cafe where patrons are served by waitresses clad in maid outfits.
While that culture is no longer the in-thing, it won’t be the last we’ll see of them.
Introducing the MAID GYM.
To be opened in Japan, this project is set out to answer the current trend of fitness and bodybuilding that is taking over the world by storm. Having already met its funding target with a little over a month remaining, the MAID GYM project was pitched to the Japanese website, Campfire as a crowdfunded initiative.
These maids will be giving encouragement in more than just being aesthetically pleasing, they will also cheer you on and verbally support your way to becoming a hunk.
As reported by Rocket News 24, the pricing for a visit will be at about 7,500 yen (RM293) for 50 minutes, which includes a sports drink, a protein drink, and tons of reasons to visit it back again, that is if you could afford it.
There is also a 10,000-yen (RM391) membership fee to be paid before proceeding with your gym session. Though the prices are steep, these maids are also trained on the safety in managing and operating the equipment.
Further boasting its exclusivity, the gym will limit to three customers at a time. Including the maids, there will be at most six persons in the gym at any given moment, giving the customer a more private experience when compared to a typical gym.
While the exact opening date has yet to be announced, its location will be ‘within walking distance of Akihabara’ as described in their crowdfunding page.
