Following the incident where a woman from India fell through a sinkhole in Kuala Lumpur, as well as the various sinkholes that have popped up since Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has announced several projects worth over RM280 million to prevent any further sinkholes and landslides in Kuala Lumpur and the rest of Malaysia.
This includes:
- More than RM250 million to repair slopes throughout the country
- RM21 million to curb the issue of soil erosion in Kerian Laut, Perak, Kedah and Perlis
- RM10 million to carry out soil layer structural geotechnical studies in the main streets around Kuala Lumpur’s Golden Triangle
He said this during the presentation of Budget 2025 in Parliament today (October 18).
