Paging all music fans in East Malaysia! Do you often feel FOMO due to a lot of Malaysian concerts taking place in the Peninsular? Well, come this September you can put your FOMO to rest because Malaysia’s next major music fest will take place in Miri!

Enjoy the best of music, culture and nature at Borderland Music Festival, coming to you this 15 & 16 September 2023 at Coco Cabana in Miri, Sarawak!

Flights to KL? No need for those if you’re Sarawakian because the most renowned local and international artists are coming right to Borneo’s doorstep!

Speaking of said artists, the lineup of performers for Borderland is no joke tau! Here are some of the stellar musicians who will perform at this super-happening music festival!

 

1. Cesqeaux

Born in the Netherlands, Cesqeaux got a big head start in the DJ-ing world by collaborating with Yellow Claw after meeting them at a concert.

Since then, he has released countless singles and EPs, collaborated with high-profile artists such as Justin Bieber and David Guetta, and has appeared at many prestigious events including Tomorrowland Brazil and Ultra Music Festival!

 

2. Will Sparks

All the way from the Land Down Under is William James Sparks, an Australian DJ and producer who is most famous for his 2013 banger “Bring It Back” with Joel Fletcher and his 2014 hit “Ah Yeah So What!” featuring Wiley and Elen Levon!

Since his breakthrough in 2014, he has toured Europe and Asia extensively (with a few stops in Malaysia!), launched his own festival dubbed Sparksmania and has been listed in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs poll eight years in a row! Electronic music fanatics will definitely feel his “Sparks” once he performs his set at Borderland!


3. Ms. Puiyi

From actress and influencer to a full-fledged music producer and DJ, Ms. Puiyi started diving into Malaysia’s electronic music scene after dropping her debut single “Men-Mory” in 2022!

With more plans to expand her music career including future singles and live performances, Malaysians shouldn’t miss out on being part of her promising tenure as a musician by checking out her upcoming Borderland show!

 

4. Moksi

Once a Dutch electronic duo and now the solo project of Samir Ait Moh, Moksi had a unique debut by holding their first show at Tomorrowland 2015! And thanks to their inclusion in Yellow Claw’s Barong Family label, Moksi has enjoyed spectacular streaming numbers as well as esteemed festival appearances including at the Paris and Chicago editions of Lollapalooza.

Despite splitting with longtime member Diego Stijnen, Samir has no intention of slowing down as he’s preparing to release Moksi’s first one-man album “Moksi Crew”! Make sure to check out Moksi’s upcoming Borderland show and he’ll konfem have you shouting “Gimme Bass” at the top of your lungs! 

 

5. RayRay

RayRay started delving into music production at the young age of 17 out of a deep love for Taipei’s art scene. Since then, she has consistently produced bass-heavy club favourites – often under Yellow Claw’s Barong Family label!

Using her signature “alien bass” sound which blends trap, funk, hip hop and dubstep, this Taiwanese DJ is ready to bring her “alien invasion” to the crowd at Borderland!

 

6. Wukong

From self-professed raver to world-conquering DJ, Wukong prides himself on bringing fresh energy from Asia’s music scene by mixing ethnic Asian elements with his unique electronic beats!

Despite only debuting in 2019, he has rapidly risen to become one of the most renowned DJs in the international scene, thanks to his massive global following and many festival appearances! Come see this Singaporean DJ’s Asian pride on display during his superpowered performance at Borderland Music Festival!
