A three-year-old boy was killed in a fire that destroyed three houses in Banting, Selangor, earlier today (6 February).
Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar, Assistant Director of Operations at the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), stated that his team received an emergency call at approximately 2:44 AM.

According to Sinar Harian, Ahmad Mukhlis added that when the team arrived 12 minutes later, they found the fire had already engulfed three Class B (semi-permanent) residential buildings.
“A total of 17 personnel and officers, along with fire engines from the Teluk Panglima Garang station and support from Banting and KLIA stations, rushed to the scene, which was 11 kilometres away,” he revealed.


He added that each house was about 90% destroyed. Initial reports indicated that a child was trapped inside one of the burning homes.
“Further inspection found the victim in the master bedroom, burned beyond recognition, at 4:15 AM,” he said.
Ahmad Mukhlis also confirmed that the firefighting team managed to bring the blaze under control at 3:30 AM.
