A present must occasionally be appropriate to prevent any unintended misconceptions.

A recent blood drive in Johor Bahru came under fire for allegedly giving away instant noodles with a pork flavour to the Muslim blood donors.

A non-governmental organisation (NGO) and Hospital Sultanah Nora Ismail (HSNI) organised the blood donation drive, which took place at a mall in the state.

Although malls frequently host blood donation drives, the event caught the police’s attention yesterday morning (June 27) after the Ministry of Health (KKM) filed a complaint regarding the pork instant noodle prize that was given away.

The blood donors, who were mostly Muslims, reportedly received goodie bags with the noodle from the NGO that was present.

According to a report by Berita Harian, an task force has been set up by IPD Batu Pahat and as of now, a few individuals have been called in and confiscations have been made to investigate the matter further.

Do you think that the gift was simply a blunder on the NGO’s side? Do you think they could’ve given something else instead of instant noodles?
