With the campaigning period for the Ayer Kuning by-election underway, Umno Youth Chief Dr Akmal Saleh’s picture was recently spotted on one of the banners, but here’s the thing.
Dr. Akmal is not one of the candidates for the by-election.

If you take a close look at the image above, a photo of the UMNO Youth Chief is subtly included in the shade of red, focusing on Bawani Kaniapan from Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM), who is competing against Barisan Nasional’s Yusri Bakir and Perikatan Nasional’s Abd Muhaimin Malek.
Also known as Bawani KS, she is an activist and a lawyer.
So, what is Dr Akmal doing in the background of the banner that comes with a message in Chinese? In case you’re wondering, here’s what it means.
“Vote for BN = Vote for Akmal.”
“Support the political party that doesn’t play the racial card.”
With the image circulating on social media, it didn’t take long for the UMNO Youth Chief to get his attention on the banner, with a reminder to those involved in the by-election (and everyone).
“You don’t have to fear me as long as you don’t touch on the 3R”
In his Facebook post last night (April 21), despite expressing no direct objection against his image on the banner, Dr Akmal couldn’t help but wonder about the purpose of including his photo with the message.

However, the man had a stern reminder.
“Are you afraid of me?”
“As long as you don’t touch on religion, race and royalty matters, which are mentioned in the Federal Constitution, I will not touch you.”
Dr Akmal reiterated that once the 3R matter is not respected, his party will not remain quiet.
“I thought a lawyer would understand the Constitution, but unfortunately, she is still rhetoric.”
“To the people in Ayer Kuning, don’t worry about voting for BN. We have been proven as non-rhetorical when it comes to protecting the nation, the race, and religion.”
Dr Akmal also reminded the candidates to run their campaigns in a healthy manner.
