If you have a great sense of humour, chances are that you loved the show Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
Our favourite interactions in the show were between characters, Jake Peralta and Captain Holt, and now knowing that the person who played and gave life to Captain Holt has passed away is truly heartbreaking.
According to a report by Variety, Andre Braugher, who plays Captain Holt in Brooklyn Nine-Nine, has passed away on Monday (11 December) at the age of 61, due to an illness.
Having had quite an accomplished acting career, he had previously won awards for his roles in TV series and movies such as Thief, Homicide: Life on the Street, Frequency and of course, Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
Andre is survived by his wife Ami Brabson and 3 children.
Many who have worked alongside Andre Braugher saw him as a mentor figure and a joy to be around.
“Can’t believe you’re gone so soon. I’m honoured to have known you, laughed with you, worked with you and shared 8 glorious years watching your irreplaceable talent. This hurts. You left us too soon. You taught me so much. I will be forever grateful for the experience of knowing you. Thank you for your wisdom, your advice, your kindness and your friendship.”
“Deepest condolences to your wife and family in this difficult time. You showed me what a life well lived looks like. Rest in peace, Andre. I love you, man,” actor Terry Crews shared via his Instagram account.
