Given the current economic climate, many find it a challenge just to make ends meet, with the common consensus being that a second income or a ‘side gig’ is needed, especially if you live in the city.
A recent viral video exemplifies just that, showing a hard-working Malaysian man tirelessly working two jobs almost every day.
Shared by TikTok user aemalynn on the social media platform, the video shows her boyfriend preparing two bowls of laksa at a stall in Bukit Jelutong, Shah Alam while wearing formal clothes.
The couple then ate the laksa together and through the caption and the overlaid text on the video, it is revealed that the laksa and mee rebus stall is her boyfriend’s side hustle, whereby he works a corporate job during the day and sells the Malaysian noodle dishes at night.
The caption reads,
“Bukit Jelutong and Shah Alam people, come and support my boyfriend’s laksa business please. He works day and night, weekdays and weekends, but I’m the one who’s tired when seeing him work.”
As of the time of writing, the video has garnered over 524,000 views and more than 50,800 likes, with many comments praising the man’s dedication at making an honest living.

In the video’s comments section, one netizen says that the man is definitely a keeper, whereby not only does he work two jobs, but he also still makes time for his girlfriend.
Meanwhile, another commenter said that he has incredible respect for the man, asserting how hard it is to work non stop for an honest living, though he does advise the man to get sufficient rest. Similarly, other comments also urged for the man to keep work-life balance in mind, with some even asking the girlfriend to help take care of him.
Besides that, there are also Malaysians that are so impressed by the man’s commitment that they are planning to visit the stall to support the business.
