Everyone wants the jacked-up price of goods to stop because the struggle of high living costs is real, but not everyone has the chance (or the guts) to voice out about it to the leaders. A Makcik in Perlis recently went viral for voicing out about the matter to PMX during his visit to the Ramadhan Bazaar.

Following the reminder from the brave Makcik and the feedback from other Malaysians, PMX is finally taking action, according to Fahmi Fadzil, the Minister of Digital and Communications. In a recent press conference, Fahmi said that PMX had a Cabinet meeting with the ministers, and they were all given a specific task.

Go out there in the field and take a good look at the high living costs

The wise words that PMX received from the Makcik were shared with the ministers during the meeting, and Anwar wants all ministers to do the same.

“PMX wants us to spend more time and go out there to observe the condition ourselves, while also taking a look at the quality and pricings of goods,” Fahmi explained.

Fahmi also said the instructions were given to all ministers after PMX’s visit to multiple events, where he got to mingle around with the people and personally listened to their feedback about the high living costs.

“PMX also highlighted the matter to us because the Raya celebration is around the corner,” Fahmi added.

In the meantime, Fahmi added that several announcements will be made after Raya by the Minister of Economy for the business start-up companies.

Just a few days back, PMX visited the Ramadhan Bazaar in Perlis where he was approached by a Makcik who reminded him to take a good look at the high costs of living. In the viral video, PMX did not evade her questions and spent some time listening to what the Makcik had to say.

The Mak Cik had voiced out to PMX personally – something not all of us get to do. Hopefully, the reminder will “kickstart” many changes in easing down the high costs of living.
