Although we have all done our duty to vote in the 15th General Election on Saturday (November 19), we’re still waiting for the results of who will be the next Prime Minister of Malaysia.

Our country is still in a state of uncertainty as we are currently experiencing a hung parliament. Although it was scheduled to be announced yesterday (November 22), it appears that the Yang di-Pertuan Agong needs time to consider his decision on who should run the country.

However, it hasn’t stopped Malaysians from showing their support on who they’d like to see as PM. A petition has been set up on Change.org titled, “Malaysians want DSAI to be their 10th Prime Minister!” which at the time of writing, has garnered over 276k signatures.

Apart from the signatures, Malaysians also stated their reasons for wanting the Pakatan Harapan chairman to be elected.

Many stated that it was because they wanted a government that does not politicise race or religion as well as a clean and competent government.

After his meeting with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong yesterday at the royal palace, Anwar took the time to talk to the media to inform them of what the discussions were about.

We’ve been summoned by the Agong, and I expressed my profound gratitude for the opportunity given,” explained Anwar.

“His Highness began by expressing his desire to form a strong government that is inclusive in terms of race, religion or region, that would be able to allow the government to focus on resolving the problems of the rakyat and to resuscitate our economy.”

“I’ve expressed this gratitude to his Royal Highness and said we’ll do our best and would digest the advice and would wait for the final decision which is of course (based on) the discretion of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong,” he said.

Do you believe that Anwar will become the PM?
