Late last month, Ustaz Ebit Lew had visited Jakarta, Indonesia, to carry out his charity work.

While he was there, he had spent some time with a group of homeless ‘Punk’ kids and bonded with them through the stories of their hardships.

Taking to a Facebook post, he shared how many of them cried as he treated them lovingly, reminding them of their parents.

Ustaz Ebit Lew wrote, “Crying with the street Punk children in Jakarta. These young people are gentle and polite. They are all handsome and beautiful. You wouldn’t know the tests that they’ve gone through in life when you see them on the road. Underneath their tattoos, there are stories.”

He went on to buy them clothes and food, and booked several hotel rooms so that they would have a place to sleep for the night. His kindness towards them caused many of them to cry.

“When asked why they are crying, ‘We haven’t felt like this in a long time. Thank you, Ustaz, for entertaining us and sharing like this with us’,” he added.

Realising he could do much more for the homeless community in Jakarta, Ustaz Ebit Lew then opened a shelter home for displaced people and arranged for the group of Punk youths he had met to manage the home.

“Thankfully, we have opened a stopover house for the homeless living on the streets of East Jakarta. It’s a 3-storey house. We made 20 of the tattooed Punk kids as volunteers who will manage the house. They will also help cook the complimentary dinner everyday for the homeless who sleep here,”

“Priority will be given to mothers and small children, and the elderly who are looking for a place to sleep. We will also arrange prayer and Al-Quran classes for these street kids,” he shared.

They all cried and held Ustaz Ebit Lew as it was time for him to leave.

“When I was going to leave, everyone cried in my arms. They said they never felt anyone loving them like this. They can’t wait to carry out some small businesses and to change the way they earn a living. We will also continue to help them,”

“Ya Allah, You are the most powerful. Help and take care of them all. Accept the intentions of the punk kids to be better and to succeed in helping more people. Their ambition is to help all the children on the streets who have no bed and no food,” Ustaz Ebit Lew added.

It’s so amazing to see how he has changed an entire community’s life for the better.

We’re so happy that the group now not only have a proper roof above their heads but also have been given the opportunity to fulfill their goals of helping their community.
