During the implementation of MCO 3.0, we have heard many reports of bosses forcing their employees to go into the office for work beyond the allowed 60%.

In a statement based on Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri Yaakob’s press conference on 30 May 2021, the minister mentioned that he had come across several posts of people being forced to go into their office by their employers. Elaborating on that, he said that PDRM and the Ministry of Human Resources’ officers will be doing their rounds during the full lockdown.

“Strict action needs to be taken against employers who flout the instructions that are set by the government.”

In addition to that, the minister hopes that employees will report to the authorities immediately if they spot their bosses violating the rules set by the government. To report an employer, one can report the matter to PDRM or they can use the Working for Workers (WFW) application by the Ministry of Human Resources. The application can be downloaded on Apple App Store and Google Play Store. You can also call this number (+603-8000 8000) to make a complaint.

“The purpose of this Movement Control Order is to limit movement. Only go out when it is absolutely necessary.”

The minister also hopes that the private sector will abide by the government directives in order for the curve to be flattened.

Other than that, all permission letters to cross states issued by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry will be null starting from 1 June 2021. New applications for interstate travel (for work purposes) will need to be submitted to the relevant ministries.

Remember to stay at home and only go out when you really need to!
