Bank Islam Is Offering 6 Months Moratorium For Flood Victims

Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad (Bank Islam) is offering a dedicated Program Prihatin to assist customers affected by floods.  This program aims to alleviate the financial burden of flood victims who are customers under the facilities of Home Financing, Personal Financing and Bank Islam Vehicle Financing.

Those who are eligible can apply for a moratorium of up to six months for the payment of their monthly commitment subject to the conditions set. Bank Islam Chief Executive Officer, Mohd Muazzam Mohamed, as reported by Harian Metro, said that Bank Islam is always monitoring the latest developments of the flooding in the affected areas and will take proactive measures to help customers affected by the disaster. He elaborated, 

We are aware of the difficulties faced by customers in dealing with the current situation, especially with the severe flooding and the Covid-19 pandemic that is still plaguing the country.  This is because the well-being of the community and customers have always been the priority of Bank Islam. We hope this program can help alleviate their concerns over financial commitments at this challenging time.  We remain committed to assisting and supporting the affected states in ensuring the welfare and interests of the people are taken care of.”

For more information in regards of the Program Prihatin, customers can call the Bank Islam Call Center at 03-2690 0900 and applications for the moratorium under this Program Prihatin can be made at the nearest Bank Islam branch.
