According to a statement posted on MOHE’s Facebook, students from Red Zone areas will have to go to their universities ten days earlier to undergo quarantine as a method to ensure they’re Covid-19 free. For students studying in IPTs located at Sabah or Sarawak, this will depend on the decision made by the respective state governments.

MKN has also approved to allow the intake of international students at government and private institutions from all countries except the United Kingdom starting 1 January 2021. These international students will have to be quarantined for ten days before they’re allowed to enter their campus.

This decision is to allow students will have a “hybrid education” system where lessons will be face-to-face AND online. The Higher Education Ministry requests that all academic activities on campus be held in accordance with set SOPs.
