As we all know, Malaysians schools will be in full session starting next week, 15th July. For those who have returned to their respective hometowns, this may be difficult as it could be expensive to return to their institutions.

To ease their worries, in his press conference today, Defence Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced that Malaysian Airlines (MAS) will be offering a 20% discount for students, teachers and lecturers on domestic flights if they book their tickets beginning 9th of July until the 10th of August.

The discount will be valid for travels from July 10 to Nov 30.

If you’re doing your booking online, the promo code will be announced later either by the Higher Education Ministry or by MAS themselves.

For students who are looking for cheaper flights back to their educational institutions, the 20% discount will be given to them through the MH Explorer programme, where they can register as members via MAS’ official website.

The minister added that the Malaysian Aviation Commission will be having a meeting with other airlines to reduce their ticket prices as well.
