The National Registration Department (JPN) has arrested a Malaysian man suspected of using another individual’s MyKad to claim the BUDI MADANI RON95 (BUDI95) subsidy at a fuel station in Gemencheh, Negeri Sembilan.

The action was taken by JPN Putrajaya’s Enforcement Division (BSK) following a report lodged by the MyKad’s rightful owner, who discovered that their BUDI95 quota was used without their knowledge.

JPN arrested a local man for using someone else’s MyKad to redeem BUDI95

Taking to its official Facebook page, JPN stated that the initial investigation found that the 42-year-old suspect used the MyKad at the Petron fuel station in Gemencheh.

The suspect was arrested at a house in PPRT Kampung Baru, Sungai Lerek, Negeri Sembilan, at noon yesterday (26 December). JPN has since applied for a remand order at the Tampin Magistrate’s Court today for further investigation.

The case is being investigated under Regulations 25(1)(e) and 25(1)(o) of the National Registration Regulations 1990 (Amendment 2007) for using someone else’s MyKad.

Those convicted under the aforementioned Regulations may face imprisonment of up to 3 years or be fined up to RM20,000.

“JPN emphasises that possessing or using someone else’s MyKad for any purpose, including the redemption of government aid, is a serious offence and is subject to legal action,” the department warned.

JPN thus advises any individual who finds a MyKad to surrender it to JPN or the nearest police station immediately.
