A woman has apparently been living as a “dead person” in the eyes of the authorities for approximately 15 years, as the National Registration Department (JPN) had allegedly issued her death certificate in 2009.

According to a TikTok post by social activist and Chairman of the Secretariat of National Loyalty (SBKN), Datuk Dr Kalai Vanar, the woman came to him in tears after going back and forth for years with JPN in an effort to correct the alleged mistake.

JPN allegedly issued a death certificate for a woman in 2009 despite her being alive to this day

He shared, “A revelation will be made on Wednesday (31 December 2025), where a victim is said to have passed away, died, but is still alive despite JPN issuing a death certificate.”

“The date of death is 15 September 2009, at 11:50 AM, and the cause of death was listed as suicide. However, the victim—for whom a death certificate was issued by JPN—is still alive,” the activist added.

In the video, Datuk Dr Kalai Vanar showcased what appears to be a copy of the woman’s alleged death certificate, and went on to share further details on the victim and how JPN had apparently not been very helpful towards her.

“She is of the Muslim faith, is 35 years old, a woman who came to see me in tears. For 15 years, she suffered while going back and forth with JPN, but it is said that JPN does not care at all,” he stated.

“So, how do we overcome this problem? SBKN is ready to help. Solidarity for the victim. An exposé with the victim will be held on Wednesday,” he added.
