There’s nothing to be ashamed of, so let’s just admit it because we’ve all done it before at least once.

We’ve secretly checked our partner’s phone time and time again just to make sure they’re staying loyal. Sure, it may not be nice, but its human nature and as long as it doesn’t get out of hand or become a major argument, a little peek never hurt anyone.

But unfortunately for those living in Saudi Arabia, it’s officially become to crime to do so! Partners caught secretly checking their significant other’s phones and documenting any information found can be charged up to one year in jail, a 500,000 Riyal (RM558,429) fine, or both!

Those who are caught looking through the phone without permission but without documenting information may receive a lower sentence and fine. The act is now categorised under cybercrimes.

As according to Arab News, Abdul Aziz bin Batel, a lawyer and legal adviser, said that any crime committed using computers, mobile phones and cameras is considered a cybercrime and will be punished accordingly.

So those of you actively doing it still, do it as much as you want before this new law comes to Malaysia!

Thank God I’m single.
