On 30th July, a lady in Chachoengsao, Bangkok committed suicide by dousing herself with petroleum and setting herself on fire.

According to a Facebook post, it was said that she sells clothing and some other products online. She is a 32-year-old divorcee with a 4-year-old son. People around her said that she is a good-natured woman and also very cheerful. It all changed when her husband divorced her around a year ago.
After that, she rarely came out from the house and didn’t really talk to anyone anymore. When she fought with her mother, she would go and seek refuge at her grandmother’s place.

It seems that she has tried to commit suicide a lot of times before. She had tried to burn herself in a temple’s crematorium twice but people stopped her.
She was plagued with problems and in addition to that, she was still in love with her ex-husband. She couldn’t see a way out and so, she decided to commit suicide.
Her 89-year-old grandmother said that her granddaughter came over to stay for 2 days. She didn’t know who she argued with and didn’t ask much. People had warned her grandmother that they saw her trying to commit suicide in the temple.

In the wee hours of 30th July, her grandmother saw her go out of the house. When her grandmother returned home, she saw a 5-litre container of petroleum. She then went to the back of the house and saw her granddaughter on the floor, blackened by the fire.

The villagers quickly went in to help her and to call the police and an ambulance. With over 60% of her body burnt, she passed away in the Chonburi hospital at around 4am on the 31st of July.
Her mother had confirmed that she had been loaning money from friends because she was having some financial issues. She was also investigated by the police because there was something wrong with the products that she was selling. In the past, she had attempted suicide many times but her family members did not think that she would try again.
All thoughts and prayers go to her family. Remember, depression is a real thing and it can affect anyone. Check up on your friends and family members, make sure they’re okay because you just might not know.
