Famous bubble tea brand The Alley serves some of the tastiest bubble teas on the market and you can always expect a line slowly snaking towards the counter. However, if you think you can skip the queue by buying canned bubble tea, you’re making a big mistake!

Earlier last week (April 2019), The Alley posted a reminder on Instagram to warn its fans about fake The Alley products being sold in Malaysia. Apparently, a store in Melaka is selling instant bubble tea with the Alley’s well-known logo printed on the can, and any bubble tea fan would buy these canned teas in a heartbeat seeing how convenient it is to have one of your favorite drink always within reach.

The Alley has since denied that the products are theirs and stated that they’ve never produced canned bubble tea.

It is understood that the bubble tea was imported from overseas and the label even mentions that the product was manufactured by The Alley Hong Kong, which is not true. A quick browse on the internet revealed that these products are also being sold in China and a box of 20 cups costs around 102 Yuan (approx. RM63).

We’re not going to lie, bubble tea is addictive, which is why many of us fell in love with it. However, if you’re going to drink it, it’s advisable to get the authentic stuff as we don’t know what’s inside the fake ones.

Know someone who lives and breathes bubble tea? Don’t forget to share this article with them!
