This is horrifying!
A 50-year-old man from South Korea with a criminal history of committing sexual crimes broke into a house where a mother and her eight-year-old daughter lived.
It was at 9.40pm on 10th July when he barged into the second floor of the residential building located in Gwangju Southern District and planned to attack the 50-year-old woman and her daughter.
According to China Press, the man is believed to have lived in the same house in the past and knew that it was currently occupied by the woman and her daughter, but still decided to break into it.
He first approached the woman who was watching TV and started violently attacking her by grabbing her neck and beating her brutally. At this point in time, the daughter was still sleeping nearby.
The man then tried to sexually assault the girl by forcing his tongue into her mouth. This caused the girl to wake up from her sleep, but upon realising that a foreign object was in her mouth, she bit the man’s tongue.
The assaulter immediately stopped what he was doing, which freed the girl who went down to the first floor to ask her neighbours for help. They called the police, who rushed to the scene and found that the man had not escaped.
He was arrested on the spot and taken away by the police. The police later discovered that the man had committed sexual assault in the past and was wearing a GPS-based ankle monitor usually used on criminals to prevent them from reoffending.
He had previously been in prison but was released in 2015 with an ankle monitor. However, he damaged the device and had to serve another eight months in prison. The police are currently investigating the details of this case.
Hopefully the woman and her daughter will be able to recover from this traumatising incident soon.
