Recently, we reported on how 24 students from Malaysian Tamil schools dominated the World Robot Games (WRG) 2025 in Taiwan, bringing home an impressive haul of over 80 medals.
However, despite the achievement, the students reportedly received little public attention.

Malaysians question the lack of acknowledgement given to Tamil school students dominating WRG 2025
With that in mind, the Wiring short circuit Facebook page has questioned why the students and their achievements have not gone viral, especially compared to the attention international artists receive.
They wrote, “Tamil school carries the name of the country, the children competed hard to bring back 80 medals. However, they’re not trending, not going viral and not receiving ‘hero worship’. When celebrities come from abroad, some would ‘lick’ them until they shine and lift them as ‘community saviours‘.”
“The simple question is, who is really building the futures of our children? Artists who come to collect ticket money and go back, or teachers and students who win medals without the spotlight? Respect entertainment, but don’t lose your dignity and priorities. The ones who deserve to be lifted are not the most popular but the ones who contribute the most,” the post added.
Where is the Ministry of Education (MOE) and its Minister?
Many took to the post to second the Facebook page’s opinion, while others pointed out that even MOE, and its Minister, Fadhlina Sidek, were silent regarding the students’ achievement.

“Why didn’t the Education Minister welcome them back (to the country)?”

“The current Education Minister is weak and busy politicking. Absolutely does not take note of the achievements and problems in children’s education.”

“The Education Minister is quiet, didn’t welcome them, didn’t appreciate them.”

“The MADANI (government) Education Minister, what does she care about all of this? She only cares about petty controversies.”
Some also pointed out that many mainstream media platforms failed to report on this matter and acknowledge the students’ massive achievement on the international stage.
