Everyone deserves to be safe, regardless of where they are. Sadly, men are not always safe too because a predator has no gender, and in this case, a 73-year-old woman in Taiwan caused trauma to some men by invading their privacy.

The incident happened back in April this year when the “granny”, who is also the landlady rented a suite to a man named Chan and his friends. After checking in, it didn’t take long for Chan to notice the presence of something that shouldn’t be there – spy cameras! Chan found two of them planted in different spots – under the TV and in the bathroom.

Knowing that his friends and he were at risk of being recorded secretly, Chan immediately called the police. During the investigation, the granny herself confessed that she had placed the spy cams at both locations. The police seized the evidence and found footage of the men resting in the suite and other clips.

On top of that, the police also found the receipt of purchase for the devices that were illegally installed. The granny, however, did not reveal her motive and could not reach a common ground with the victims.

The matter was eventually brought to the court where the court found her guilty of invading others’ privacy by recording non-public activities.

The granny was sentenced to 40 days of imprisonment, which can be appealed, and the spy cams and memory cards of the devices remained confiscated, as reported by Liberty Times Net.

Spy cams in hotel rooms or homestays are no joke and could happen to anyone, anywhere and anytime. If you spot spy cams in your homestay or hotel rooms, report the matter immediately.
