On 30 December 2020, a horrifying case that resulted in the death of a child was reported to the Gombak police.

A 5-year old child was found unconscious by her aunt in the living room when she returned home. The woman called the police and ambulance, however, when the authorities arrived, the victim had already passed away.

In a statement, the aunt has said that the victim had complained of pain in her stomach region prior to this. The child had also vomited.

According to the police statement found on NTV7 Mohd Redzuan’s Twitter, the child is said to be disabled as she was unable to walk properly and could only move by crawling.

She has a history of hydrocephalus which is an accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) in the brain. The victim also reportedly has no control over her bladder and bowel movement.

A post-mortem was held where they found several old burn scars believed to have been made by mosquito coils. The results show that she had ruptured intestines that may have been caused by abuse. Meanwhile, six people have been detained to help out with the investigation.

Harian Metro reported that the intestine rupture was allegedly due to the victim’s grandmother kicking the child repeatedly.

The child’s parents are divorced and her father is often not at home as he works as a lorry driver. This case will be investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

We hope that justice will be served. May she rest in peace.
