A team of firefighters rescued a woman who could not get down after climbing a 9.1 meter high acacia tree at Jalan Lubok Dulang, Ayer Lanas, yesterday (8 December).
It is believed that the victim, Riszi Che Soh, 51, hallucinated and climbed the tree and couldn’t get herself back down.
Head of Jeli Fire and Rescue Station, Mohd. Adni Ibrahim said they received a call from the victim’s family at about 9.33am before 9 firefighters were sent to the scene.
According to him, they found that the victim was in a state of weakness and in fear.
“Looking at the situation, the firefighters took 10 minutes to persuade and calm the victim.”
“After successfully persuading her, firefighters used rescue equipment such as ropes and ladders to lower the woman,” he added.
According to Mohd. Adni, the rescue operation ended at 10.30am and the victim was handed over to her family.
