Sometimes while driving, we can see some workers resting at the side of the street under some trees after a hard day’s work. Unfortunately, the most fatal incidents happen at the most unexpected moments.

Five grass cutters passed away and one is in serious condition because a Kelantan woman crashed her Myvi car into them on a highway in Khuhatai, Rattaphum near Songkhla, Thailand, reported Bangkok Post.

The incident happened at 3pm yesterday (13th August) and the victims were resting at the side of the road after cutting grass around the area when they were hit by the Myvi car that the woman was driving.

The Chief of Investigation at Rattaphum police station said that the victims were identified as Chaikaew (aged 53), Witchaya Thongma (aged 51), Somporn Sawatdiraksa (aged 54), Theeraawut Mongkhol (aged 37) and Wirat Semkhai (aged 34). One of the victims, Bamreur Ketmoon (age 56) is reportedly in serious condition.

According to a report, the Myvi was driven by a Malaysian woman (age 31) from Kelantan and there were two other female passengers in the car. They are also Malaysians.

The three women were reported to be safe and did not sustain any injuries. The investigation discovered that they were on the way from Krabi to Hat Yai.

Further investigation revealed that the Malaysian driver’s car collided into something which caused her to lose control of the car and hit the grass cutters.
