40yo OKU Beggar Stabbed & Killed by Another Beggar in Front of Shah Alam Bank

A video shared via MYNEWSHUB has been making its rounds online, showing a disabled (OKU) man being killed right in front of a bank in Shah Alam.

In a statement, Shah Alam District Police Chief ACP Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim confirmed that they received a report about the incident from the public on April 24, around 12 PM.

He was stabbed multiple times in the chest

Investigations revealed that the 40-year-old local victim was often seen begging around the bank area in Seksyen 18.

The 28-year-old suspect also begs in the same spot, and according to police, the 2 got into a heated argument over who had the right to beg there.

Things quickly escalated when the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the chest multiple times, leaving him unconscious and lying in a pool of blood.

The suspect tested negative for drugs

Based on the information gathered, police arrested the suspect at the scene around 12:30 PM the same day. He’s a known beggar in the area with 9 prior criminal records. A urine test came back negative for drugs.

He’s set to be brought to the Shah Alam court on April 25 at 10:00 AM for a remand application.

The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which carries the death penalty or 30 to 40 years in prison if convicted.
