Lying face‑down on a motorcycle in a “Superman” pose and weaving zig‑zag between vehicles were among the dangerous stunts performed by a group of mat rempits before they were busted in an operation by Bukit Aman’s Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) along the KL–Seremban (PLUS) Highway on Friday (20 February).

Prior intelligence had revealed that several motorcyclists were believed to be performing various daredevil stunts while racing one another, endangering other road users.

However, their thrill‑seeking came to an abrupt end when the location was raided during a Motorcycle Enforcement Operation carried out by JSPT Bukit Aman’s Intelligence/Operations Unit.

Bukit Aman JSPT Director, Datuk Seri Muhammed Hasbullah Ali, said the team detected a group of motorcyclists performing risky stunts while racing each other along the main stretch of the highway.

“Their actions not only endanger themselves but also pose a threat to the safety of other road users.”

“As a result of the operation, three local men aged between 18 and 20 were arrested for further investigation,” he said in a statement on Saturday.

He said action was taken under Section 42 of the Road Transport Act 1987.

“In addition, two summonses were issued for driving without a licence and for non‑compliant vehicle registration plates,” he added.

He also said the JSPT Bukit Aman Intelligence/Operations Unit will continue intensifying similar operations from time to time as part of prevention and enforcement efforts.
