It’s that time of the year again. With Chinese New Year just around the corner, many of us are looking forward to celebrating the season with great food, ang pows and spending time with our relatives. But with every CNY visitation, there’s always that one busybody aunty who thinks it’s okay to question you about your relationship status. If you’re looking to avoid that interrogation this year, you might want to take a page out of this girl’s book!

We’ve seen many hilarious posts about singles looking to “rent” partners online to avoid being bombarded by their relatives with the dreaded question, “When are you planning on getting married?”
Recently, a netizen shared one such post on the UTAR Confessions page, offering an outrageous RM1,800 to her potential “fake” boyfriend.
Here are her requirements:
“Fake boyfriend must meet the following conditions:
- Male
- Average looks. Not too handsome, not too ugly. “I’m not that beautiful but I’m not ugly either. If he’s too handsome and interested in me, my family will be suspicious. If he’s too ugly, I’m sorry but my family cares a lot about appearance.”
- Must have good communication skills. “My father, mother, brother, sister, uncle, cousins and nephew will be there. Just ask questions and answer.”
- Act professionally. “Don’t be too touchy or make dirty jokes in front of me or my family”.
- Good actor
- Must have a car
- At least 21 years old
But that’s not all. If you meet all the requirements, you’ll have to take part in the “mission” this netizen has detailed out for you.
“On the first day of CNY, you’ll have to come to my house at 9:30 a.m. Dress up nicely but don’t wear a suit as my house has no air-conditioning. Watch TV, eat and play with my 11-year-old cousin. At 12pm, my relatives will arrive for lunch. If anybody interviews you about our “relationship”, just fake it till they believe it’s real. You can leave at around 3:30p.m. when they’re done.”
Just so you guys know this netizen is serious, she said she’s willing to pay RM500 as down payment when you first meet her! The rest will be deposited to you through CIMBClicks.
She even put a disclaimer, “If you can’t come, let me know one day before.”
Before ending the hilarious post, the netizen thought it’d only be fair if she introduced herself too.
“Let me introduce myself first. I’m a 27-year-old woman, 148cm, 39kg, a UNIMAS graduate. I’ve been single since birth, and am currently working as an admin executive in a KL company. My hometown is Ipoh.”
So if you find yourself free this CNY and are looking to earn some extra ang pow, why not make some money in your spare time?
“If you’re interested you can reply to this post saying “I don’t know anything, I’m very pure and innocent” or “I want, I want, I want want want”. I will personally message you, thanks.”
LOL. What do you guys think about this? Share this with someone who you think is a good fit for the position!
