A 16-year-old Malaysian tragically lost his life yesterday after the motorcycle that he was riding rammed into a cow in Kelantan. The incident happened at Kilometre 35 of Jalan Gua Musang-Kuala Krai at around 9.55pm.
As reported by national news agency BERNAMA, the victim was identified as Mohamad Adam Haikal Mohamad Asri from the Kesedar Chalil land development scheme (RKT). According to the initial investigation by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), the victim was travelling from Chiku 3 to Chiku 2 when the incident happened.
Gua Musang district police chief Supt Sik Choon Foo commented,
“The incident occurred when the victim who was travelling from Chiku 3 to Chiku 2 on a Yamaha YI5Z motorcycle, failed to avoid the cow that was crossing the road… The victim’s body has been sent to the Gua Musang Hospital for a post-mortem and the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987,”
After sustaining serious injuries following the crash with the cow, the victim was brought to Chiku 3 Health Clinic. There, he succumbed to his injuries and died while receiving treatment.
