Child abuse isn’t just about black eyes – at times, signs of child abuse are not visible and hidden from sight.
Ignoring children’s needs, putting them in unsupervised, dangerous or sexual situations, and even make them feel worthless or stupid can leave deep, lasting psychological scars.
Netizen @juraisabdullah was among those who were (sadly) lucky enough to meet a child locked out of her home by her mother, as early as 6 am. Apparently, her mother did not want her alone in the house until she got back from work at the clinic at 9 pm!
Seriously, what is wrong with these people?!
In his tweet, he writes, “This is the story of adik Ain, she is 14 years old, she doesn’t go to school and has learning difficulties.
“At 6 am, I came across her and asked, ‘why are you not at home?’. She responded, ‘my mother does not want me to be in the house’.”
The video which can be seen here, witnesses the netizen talking to the girl as she rummaged through a basket to pass the time.
The incident which was believed to have taken place in Arau, Perlis, began when the netizen noticed noises coming from the house next door.
“After my subuh prayers, I stepped out of my sister’s home in Mata Ayer, Arau and I heard knocking noises from the neighbour.”
He was shocked to find the home empty, with only the poor girl behind.
In the thread, @juraisabdullah shared that the girl was left to sleep outside with no blankets and on the cold, hard floor with the cats!
What’s more heartbreaking was the revelation that the girl was also physically abused by her parents. The netizen gave bread and milo to the girl, who began to sob as she retold her story to him.
He writes, “It broke my heart hearing how she is often beaten with a bamboo stick, splashed with hot water, and pinched with pliers.”
WTF!
In the video, he asked about her mother, and she responded, “My mother does not love me, but I still love her. She is my mother, that’s why I love her.”

After tagging Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah and Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat, the netizen gladly tweets that the police and JKM have visited the mother and action has been taken.
Facing the possibility of severe emotional harm, let’s pray for the well being of adik Ain and hope that her fortunes changed for the better after the intervention of one courageous individual.
