A 13-year-old boy was left traumatised after being sexually assaulted by a 41-year-old local man at Jalan Laksamana in Batu Caves, Selangor after he had accepted the stranger’s invitation to ride on his motorcycle.
In a statement by the Gombak District Police Chief ACP Noor Ariffin bin Mohamad Nasir, the police received a report on the incident from the victim’s parents at around 12.01am on Saturday (6 January).
According to initial investigations, the victim was walking home alone after buying nasi lemak when he was approached by the suspect.
The suspect invited him to get on his motorcycle to which the victim agreed. However, instead of bringing him home, the suspect brought him to his rented house, which is located around 700 metres away from the victim’s home.
There, the suspect sexually assaulted the victim by removing the boy’s trousers and rubbing his private parts on the victim’s.
The victim then ran away after the suspect gave him RM20 and when he returned home, he told his parents of the incident. They then went to the local police station to lodge a report.
On Sunday (7 January) at around 1.50am, police were able to apprehend the suspect and remanded him for 6 days from 7 to 12 January.
The case is being investigated under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017. If found guilty of an offence under the provision, the suspect may face up to 20 years in jail and whipping.
